What is Big Rolling Nerd?

The road gets you there. Everything else is the story.

Big Rolling Nerd is how I document the places, people, food, comedy, events and unexpected discoveries I find while traveling. Sometimes I’m headed somewhere interesting. Sometimes the detour wins.

This isn’t a highlight reel or a travel guide written from a distance. It’s one curious person showing up, looking around, talking to people and remembering what made a place worth the stop.

I’m Mike. I go places. I pay attention.

I travel a lot, but checking off destinations was never the point. I’m interested in the coffee shop somebody swears by, the comic after the show, the small-town tradition, the odd building, the wrong turn and the conversation that changes the whole day.

Big Rolling Nerd is where those miles become memories—and where the stories worth keeping find a home.
